Responsibilities
Directs sales organization operations and develops tactics, operational plans, and processes to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives.
Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization’s operations.
Oversees goal setting for departmental and group levels and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance.
Implements methods and systems to effectively analyze and monitor the industry, business environment, and competitors and expand the customer base.
Uses market and customer insights to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products. Builds effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and development programs.
May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high‑value sales.
Manages a departmental sub‑function within a broader departmental function.
Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub‑function and develops budgets, policies, and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
Deep knowledge of the managed sub‑function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
Recognizes and recruits sales representatives who will be successful.
Understands the impact of operational initiatives from a salesperson’s perspective.
Manages multiple projects and works to tight deadlines.
Proven success working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business‑oriented solutions to problems.
Qualifications
7+ years’ experience as a sales leader; related professional experience in food/hospitality, distribution, or service a plus.
Led teams of 10 or more people.
Excellent with Microsoft Office packages.
Experience with CRM or any other cloud‑based programs recommended.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
Well‑developed math and business skills.
Outstanding negotiation skills.
Ability to coach, manage and delegate.
High level of understanding of the market.
