Director of Regulatory Affairs & Senior Attorney
Latitude Legal is seeking an experienced regulatory attorney to serve as a trusted policy advisor and lead critical federal and state regulatory engagement efforts that directly impact the automotive aftermarket industry.
The successful candidate will guide the association’s regulatory strategy, collaborate closely with federal agencies such as NHTSA, EPA, and FTC, partner with congressional staff, coalition partners, and member companies, and assist the general counsel with routine legal matters related to the association’s operations.
Basic Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
7–10+ years of experience in regulatory law, government affairs, or public policy
Substantive experience interacting with federal agencies (e.g., NHTSA, EPA, FTC)
Strong knowledge of federal regulatory and administrative law processes
Demonstrated success advancing policy initiatives or managing complex regulatory issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong political acumen, judgment, and strategic thinking
Preferred Experience
Experience on Capitol Hill, within a federal agency, or in an in‑house government affairs/legal role
Existing relationships with agency officials, congressional staff, or relevant trade associations
Background in the automotive, transportation, technology, or energy sectors
Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Position Details
Type of Role: In‑house Counsel / Regulatory Affairs Director
Schedule: Full‑time
Location: Washington, D.C. Metro Area (remote within the region or office)
Travel: Multiple times per year for meetings, conferences, and association functions
Compensation and Benefits Pay:
$180,000‑$190,000 annually. Eligible for a cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
