General Manager - Organics Recycling & Environmental Services Company We are partnering with a leading organics‑waste management company providing comprehensive food‑waste collection, depackaging, composting, animal‑feed conversion, and anaerobic‑digestion services for businesses, municipalities, and institutions across the Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic region. They partner with clients such as restaurants, grocery stores, food manufacturers, hospitals, universities, and more to divert surplus food and organics from landfills, turning waste into valuable resources like compost, animal feed, and renewable energy.

With growing demand and an expanding footprint, the organization is seeking an experienced, dynamic General Manager to lead operations, maintenance, P&L oversight, and logistics to help drive the next phase of growth and impact.

Role Overview The General Manager will oversee day‑to‑day operational performance, financial results, maintenance programs, team leadership, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient service delivery, safe and reliable operations, strong profitability, and a high‑engagement culture. The position reports to senior leadership and works cross‑functionally with operations, logistics, sales, finance, and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure safe, timely, and efficient service across all routes and facilities.

Maintain strict adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental compliance.

Identify operational issues and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and service quality.

Manage maintenance programs for fleet vehicles, processing equipment, containers, and related infrastructure.

Coordinate repairs, troubleshoot equipment issues, and optimize asset uptime.

Ensure compliance with transportation, environmental, and safety regulations.

Own full P&L accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, margin management, and financial reporting.

Monitor key financial indicators such as cost per route, equipment costs, and revenue performance.

Develop and execute strategies to improve profitability, reduce operating costs, and support sustainable growth.

Partner with sales and business development teams to support client onboarding and deliver exceptional service.

Work with regulatory agencies and community stakeholders to ensure compliance and build productive relationships.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of operational leadership experience in logistics, waste management, manufacturing, recycling, environmental services, or another asset‑heavy field.

Strong operations management and maintenance background, ideally with responsibility for fleets, processing equipment, or industrial assets.

Demonstrated success managing P&L, budgets, cost controls, and financial performance.

Proven ability to lead and develop teams across multiple functions and levels.

Strong communication abilities with experience working cross‑functionally and externally with clients or partners.

Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality service delivery.

Operations background in waste recycling, composting, anaerobic digestion, environmental compliance, or related sectors.

Experience supporting business growth, market expansion, or operational scaling.
