Job Description Summary This job influences decisions as an advisor, establishing overall business or technical strategy for PayPal's top global merchants. A Director focuses on strategic account management, maximizing revenue, and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty at the executive level.
Essential Responsibilities
Establish overall business or technical strategy with significant impact on PayPal operations.
Influence decision‑making at the executive level.
Conduct discovery and develop strategies tailored to each organization.
Negotiate and close customer contracts, determining pricing and agreements.
Support account planning, business reviews, and strategic customer touchpoints.
Expected Qualifications
10+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Senior Director Responsibilities
Define the global strategic roadmap for PayPal’s presence across major digital platforms and commerce segments, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and long‑term vision.
Own the P&L accountability for significant commerce segments, driving profitable revenue growth and market share for global verticals, with a demonstrated ability to manage businesses generating over a billion in processed volume.
Develop and execute complex go‑to‑market strategies for new payment solutions (e.g., BNPL / installments, subscriptions, stablecoins) across global platform partners.
Secure executive alignment and critical resource prioritization by managing and influencing CEO and EVP‑level stakeholders both internally at PayPal and externally with strategic partners.
Lead deep cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Regional Commercial, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure seamless product integration and GTM execution.
Mentor and lead a high‑performing global team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
Senior Director Qualifications
15+ years of professional experience with a minimum of 10+ years in a senior leadership role within Payments, e‑Commerce, FinTech, or a platform‑based ecosystem.
Demonstrated executive leadership in digital payments, driving market share through strategic partnerships and product management.
Deep specialization in Payments, eCommerce, loyalty, and complex go‑to‑market strategies.
Proven ability to architect and scale product‑led partnerships that deliver measurable business impact.
Exceptional executive presence, communication, and negotiation skills, with a track record of securing funding and C‑level commitment for multi‑year strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field.
Expertise in next‑generation payment systems, including BNPL / installments, subscriptions, stablecoins, and complex multi‑seller marketplace infrastructures.
Experience leading global expansion and managing initiatives across multiple geographies.
Job Requirements
15 years+ work experience in Sales and Solution selling.
Experience with team management.
Commercial acumen to lead CEO‑level negotiation.
Understanding of technical requirements for solution selling.

Compensation PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The total compensation for this practice may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable), equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits. The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $270,000 to $464,200.
