Is This the Career for You? As Director, ALM you will analyze, model and report on interest rate risk and the overall asset‑liability management function. You’ll assist in managing the investment portfolio and collaborate with business lines to forecast revenue.
What You Get To Do
Model and evaluate scenarios to guide earnings, capital, liquidity, and interest rate risk strategies.
Develop strategies that optimize the balance sheet to meet long‑term objectives.
Evaluate model output, analyze results, and produce insightful reporting for committees and the Board of Directors.
Own, manage, and continuously improve the ALM model, refining assumptions and designing data‑driven studies.
Participate in liquidity risk, interest rate risk, investment and funding management.
Support capital market activities.
Assist with regulatory compliance, including stress testing and monitoring capital & liquidity metrics.
Plan and execute asset and liability management and hedging strategies.
Interpret financial data relative to current developments and trends.
Assist in managing the fixed‑income investment portfolio—due diligence, analysis, documentation, safekeeping and pledging.
Perform other duties and interact with various organizational levels as needed.
What We Look For In You
8+ years of progressive experience in ALM at a financial institution.
5+ years of quantitative modeling experience.
5+ years of programming language experience.
3+ years with QRM, Empyrean or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; MBA or CFA preferred.
Analytical mindset with strong technical acumen.
Solid grasp of accounting, valuation analysis and bank regulation.
Extensive knowledge of financial instruments, balance‑sheet optimization, FTP and liquidity modeling.
Expertise in QRM, Empyrean, ZMdesk or similar; Empyrean highly preferred.
Advanced econometric modeling for IRR, fixed income, prepayments and deposits; experience with SAS or R preferred.
Highly proficient with SQL, VBA or Python and relational databases.
Extensive experience building data‑visualization tools.
Self‑starter who can work independently on multiple workstreams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer‑focus – dedicated to meeting internal and external expectations.
