Our real estate team offers a range of accounting, tax, and advisory services customized to suit the needs of this diverse, dynamic industry. Essential Functions And Primary Duties
Serve as the primary advisor to a portfolio of real estate clients including funds, family offices, developers, institutional investors, and private equity real estate groups.
Provide sophisticated tax planning, structuring, and consulting related to acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, 704(b) and 704(c) allocations, waterfalls/promotes, REIT considerations, and multi-state real estate issues.
Lead discussions with client executives and decision-makers, deliver insights on tax strategies, compliance requirements, and emerging legislation.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client tax positions and expand service offerings across the firm.
Oversee the preparation and review of complex partnership returns, REIT filings, consolidated groups, multi-tier K-1 packages, and related technical memoranda.
Ensure all work meets the firm’s quality standards, risk management policies, and documentation requirements.
Lead engagement planning, budgeting, and billing.
Supervise, train and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectively.
Provide ongoing coaching, formal performance feedback, and support career development pathways.
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and client-centered culture consistent with firm values.
Develop and execute strategies to grow the Real Estate practice, including targeting new clients, expanding existing relationships, and strengthening referral networks.
Participate in proposals, RFPs, and go-to-market initiatives in coordination with regional and national leadership.
Build visibility in the marketplace through networking, industry events, thought leadership, and professional associations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
8 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
6 years of supervisory experience.
Must have active CPA or equivalent certification.
Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
Proficient use of applicable technology.
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills.
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
