Summary The RN - Physician Practice shall render direct, pre-operative, and intraoperative nursing care to patients under the supervision of the Nurse Managers or other assigned leaders, as well as to serve as a leader of a team engaged in giving nursing care. This individual shall participate in quality improvement, in-services, customer service, and have a clear understanding of the principles of aseptic technique, where applicable. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education / Experience Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Membership in AORN encouraged.
License / Certification Valid RN license required, BLS required, CNOR preferred. Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) may be required depending upon department assigned.

Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
Ability to provide a positive customer service experience to guest, visitors, and patients.

The ability to communicate effectively with patients, guest, and hospital personnel.
The ability to show compassion and sensitivity for patient comfort.
The ability to maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Position requires sitting (10%), walking (30%), standing (60%) of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and twisting.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds and pushing/pulling.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Frequent noise exposure. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation. Mechanical and electrical exposure due to equipment (e.g., phone, copier, fax machine, computer, laser and other intra-operative equipment). The potential for exposure to hazardous materials, blood, body fluids, communicable diseases and radiation exists. Involves high level of stress.
