Logistics & Material Handling Specialist

Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized and safety-focused Logistics & Material Handling Specialist to support incoming materials, shipping activities, and overall material flow throughout the facility. This role is critical in ensuring accurate receiving, efficient delivery of materials to production teams, and maintaining strong communication with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all daily tasks with a strong commitment to safety.
Validate all incoming shipments to ensure supplier paperwork matches physical items and purchase order.
Work with Purchasing to resolve discrepancies found during receiving.
Verify quantities received against JR and supplier documentation (POs, packing lists, etc.).
Schedule LTL freight pickups and all small parcel deliveries (FedEx, UPS, DHL).
Follow all client shipping guidelines, routing requirements and packaging standards.
Collaborate with logistics team members and other departments to support continuous material flow improvements.
Coordinate quality control reviews of incoming materials with the Build team and engineers.
Maintain positive, professional relationships with internal teams, suppliers, carriers and vendors.
Provide timely updates regarding shipment status, exceptions, tracking information and insurance/claim details.
Ensure receiving, purchasing and accounting documents are routed and filed accurately.
Process problem invoices through the Enlighten platform.
Support the Supply Chain team by logging and tracking returns.
Help organize material storage areas and support line‑side stocking initiatives.
Deliver materials to project team shelves and stage bulk materials based on point‑of‑use stocking plans.
Conduct material check‑in procedures to confirm delivery to the build team.
Safely load and unload machinery and equipment from various trucks and trailers.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a business, logistics or supply chain environment.
Logistics, Material Management or Supply Chain background preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Ability to obtain a Hi‑Lo (Forklift) and Overhead Crane license while employed.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
