Job Purpose The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory‑related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Performs physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory.
Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or selected part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on‑time.
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions.
Uses motorized equipment including Order Picker, Sit‑Down Forklift, and Stand‑Up Reach Truck.
Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Additional Responsibilities
Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Writes routine reports and correspondence.
Ensures compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
Physically counts articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
Utilizes a computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.
Education And/or Experience Required
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write emails.
Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
Forklift certification a plus.
