Geotechnical Operations Manager – Nashville, Tennessee Join S&ME as a full‑time Geotechnical Operations Manager. You will lead our growing Geotechnical Team in Nashville, supporting high‑profile projects in commercial real estate, institutional, and transportation markets.

About the Role The role is hands‑on, impactful, and fast‑paced. You will build client relationships, manage projects, mentor staff, and collaborate across service lines and offices.

What You'll Do

Leadership/Team Management: Manage a multidisciplinary team and lead day‑to‑day operations (project management, business development, safety, quality, finance, HR, risk management).

Business Planning & Strategy: Collaborate with other team leaders to develop and execute an annual business plan and long‑term office/market strategy.

Project Oversight: Manage geotechnical exploration projects of all sizes, develop proposals and reports, and execute projects consistent with S&ME standards.

Business Development: Drive client engagement, cross‑sell services, and leverage company tools/resources to win work.

Industry Connections: Cultivate relationships through professional organizations to strengthen S&ME's brand awareness and expand networks.

About You

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (or a related construction field; Master's is a plus).

PE license in Tennessee or ability to obtain within 6 months.

6+ years of experience supporting and managing geotechnical engineering projects.

Experience building and maintaining client relationships and a proven ability to win work.

Understanding of the A/E/C industry and delivering value to clients while achieving technical and financial outcomes.

Comfortable allocating time between office and regular site visits to support and engage field staff.

Compensation & Application Details This full‑time role offers competitive pay based on experience and includes a generous sign‑on bonus.
