Duties and Responsibilities
Verify first part of production for conformance using specifications, drawings, and customer workmanship standards.
Perform First Article Inspections of initial production runs as required.
Ensure quality standards are met throughout production runs.
Check material quality upon arrival and departure from shop.
Verify specifications concerning products upon arrival.
Verify all process specifications concerning product.
Maintain nonconformance records and reports.
Complete Orion’s Quality System required reports and forms.
Interface with customer representatives for evaluation of nonconforming product as needed.
Coordinate problem solving concerning quality issues with Orion staff and customers.
Plan operations as a result of nonconformances and opportunities for improvement.
Verify finish cell processes and product.
Evaluate periodic solution analysis reports and issue solution maintenance orders for finish cell.
Qualifications
Quality assurance experience or knowledge of manufacturing using various machines and processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Organizational ability.
Problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Customer service skills; able to relate well to all internal and external customers.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Frequent use of computer.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material.
Frequent use of vision (close, distance, color, depth perception, spatial relationships).
Frequent use of hearing to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Frequent use of speaking to express or exchange ideas, communicate detailed info, or convey instructions.
Lifting, carrying, and pulling up to 15 pounds; maximum 50 pounds; heavy objects > 40 pounds require team lift.
Exposure to manufacturing shop floor; requires safety glasses.
Exposure to excess noise; may need hearing protection.
