The Opportunity Reporting to the Senior Director, Portfolio & Development Finance, the Senior Analyst, Portfolio & Development Finance role offers an exciting opportunity to broaden development horizons within a strategically important area of the business. You will support the R&D Therapeutic Areas and overall Portfolio for the Portfolio, Development & Commercialization (PD&C) group, assist the wider Finance Business Partnering requirements for CSL’s Global R&D organization, and evaluate financial implications for global portfolios and strategies, providing insights to drive study goals.

This is a hybrid role, combining onsite and remote work.

The Role You will be focused on supporting the TA and Portfolio Finance groups and play a key role in delivering the R&D Finance Business Partner model. Core activities include:

Financial Planning and Performance Management

Support the Development & Portfolio Finance team in analyzing and reporting on Global R&D results.

Support the financial planning and reporting requirements for overall R&D in close collaboration with the R&D Finance Leadership Team.

Assist with monthly financial reviews and quarterly planning cycles to deepen understanding of portfolio dynamics, financial implications and future sensitivities.

Value and Insights

Support the Development & Portfolio Finance team in preparing and presenting financial position and variance drivers as part of month‑end and planning cycles.

Other Accountabilities

Champion the business partnering mindset; support strategic decision‑making across the R&D Portfolio.

Advocate for changes that support the R&D organization in finance process improvement activities.

You Will Also

Support the Senior Director, Development & Portfolio Finance and Associate Director, Portfolio Finance with robust analysis on movements and projections for the overall R&D Portfolio on both short‑term and long‑term fundamentals.

Act as the key point of contact for ad‑hoc requests and projects across the R&D Portfolio.

Contribute to or lead global or R&D‑specific projects to improve performance.

Support other Portfolio & Development Finance team members with ad‑hoc requests and analysis.

Define customer needs and review reporting and analytics to ensure they meet internal customers.

Participate in developing tools, techniques and best‑practice approaches to support the ongoing development of the R&D Finance capability.

Your Skills & Abilities

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or other advanced degree a plus.

3–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably budgeting and forecasting and analysis.

Strong interpersonal skills, judgment, influencing ability, analytical thinking, timely decision making, prioritizing and cross‑functional collaboration.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate across all levels.
