Key Responsibilities
Perform
supplier audits and assessments
to ensure compliance with material and quality standards for leather and textile interior trim components.
Lead investigations of
non-conformances and quality deviations , utilizing tools like
8D, Fishbone, and root cause analysis
methodologies.
Drive
supplier quality improvement plans , focusing on process control,
defect prevention , and manufacturing excellence.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and production teams to
optimize product flow
into automotive assembly lines.
Monitor and report on supplier
KPIs , including
PPM defect rates , delivery performance, and
sustainability benchmarks .
Support
new product launches , including first article inspections, capability studies, and
APQP/PPAP documentation .
Ensure compliance with
IATF 16949 , environmental standards, and internal quality management systems.
Travel to domestic and international supplier sites for
onsite quality support and training
as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering, Quality Management , or a related technical field. Advanced degree or
ASQ CQE
certification a plus.
3+ years
of experience in
supplier quality engineering
within the automotive industry—preferably with
interior trim, leather, or textile components .
Proficiency in
APQP, PPAP, SPC , and quality auditing practices.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a
global, multicultural environment .
Willingness and ability to
travel domestically and internationally .
Experience in
cut and sew processes
is a strong plus.
Bilingual Spanish/English
is highly desirable.
