Job Description Assistant Project Manager – Industrial Hygiene

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and organize a project under the directions of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager

Monitor project activities in conjunction with the onsite Foreman and Superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget

Prepare monthly costing reports under the supervision of the Project Manager

Manage financial aspects of contracts (billing, rental equipment, income/expense)

Maintain a good relationship with the client

Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and construction problems

Continually identify and proactively manage project risks and issues

Prepare project submittals

Conduct drawing take-off/estimating

Procure materials

Prepare change orders, billings, collections

Perform project closeout activities

Forecast requirements, manage budgets, track expenses

Create and maintain detailed project schedules

Oversee electrical installation of equipment

Requirements

2 to 5+ years of experience in construction, most recently in an estimator, project engineer, project management, operations, or field leadership role

Associate’s degree (minimum)

Knowledge of construction cost estimating, scheduling, and project management software

Strong communication and organizational skills

Work Environment Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasional exposure to extreme conditions on construction sites. Noise levels can be loud. Performance required inside and outside, potentially under adverse weather.

Physical Demands Occasional requirement to sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift up to 10 lb and occasionally lift up to 50 lb. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 per year.
