Position Summary
The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on natural gas compression equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on natural gas compression units, including engines, compressors, and auxiliary systems.
Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, and potential failures; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
Replace filters, fluids, belts, and other consumable components as per maintenance schedules.
Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding equipment status and repair needs.
Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, and diagnostic equipment in good working condition.
Skills & Competencies
Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental compliance.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work independently and in outdoor conditions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred.
4+ years of experience in natural gas compression.
Strong understanding of natural gas compression, production facility maintenance, and gas lift operation.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance schedules.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote locations as required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and remote field locations.
Schedule & Benefits
