Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX As the Manager, Store Planning, you play a crucial role in connecting store‑level sales plans back to financial and merchandise plans. Working with cross‑functional partners, you will lead the work clustering and location planning of our stores so that they link back to the overall merchandise strategy. Your ability to understand store needs through guest demographics, product assortment, sales and operations makes you an ideal representative within MP&A and Merchandising. You will work with Store Development to open and optimize retail locations for best guest experience and productivity.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates should plan to be in office 3+ days per week. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team Store Planning is a highly agile function that is growing in team size and capabilities. We envision a capable team of planners who each own one of our core markets and mainline product categories. They work closely with their partners in MP&A, Merchandising, Finance and Store Development.

Core Activities

Building and leading a high‑performing Store Planning team including headcount and budget management, team development and aligning department goals with company strategic objectives

Developing our store‑level sales planning tools and end‑to‑end processes

Evolving and refining our seasonal clustering tools and processes

Collaborating with Merchandise Planning on their buy planning at a store cluster level, including sales contribution, APS planning and unit investment

Collaborating with Commercial and Store Development on new store openings and optimizations through site selection, floor‑plan review and product assortment assignment

Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain

Future Projects

Working on our End‑to‑End Planning project to develop our future process and technology in the areas of Merchandise Financial Planning, Assortment Planning, Demand planning and more

Collaborating with Store Development, Visual Merchandising and Retail Operations to evolve our store design and optimization processes

Requirements

You have 5‑8 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Allocations, Merchandising or a related sales planning function (e.g., FP&A) along with 2+ years of leadership experience

You have a degree in Business, Math, Statistics, or another relevant field

You have experience working in a vertical retailer, preferably in the apparel or outdoor industry

You have first‑hand experience or familiarity with the core activities we build products for (trail, snow, climb)

You are adept at using data and market insights to drive alignment and decision‑making

You excel at leading in all directions and collaborating cross‑functionally

You have experience presenting to all organizational levels and can build and adapt content for each audience

You have experience working within an I2C/GTM calendar and meeting pre‑existing deliverables

You have demonstrated experience in process implementation and improvement, change management and have a high degree of perseverance

You lead from a place of empathy, are comfortable giving and receiving feedback and strive for continual improvement in the work of your team

You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions

You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration

You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

Salary:

$106,000 - $146,000 a year. A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$106,000 – CAD$146,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job‑related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
