How you create impact The Customs Clearance Manager is responsible for leading the day‑to‑day operations of the brokerage team, ensuring timely and compliant Customs entry processing. This role involves managing staff performance, optimizing workflows, and enhancing customer experience through effective communication and service delivery. The manager will collaborate with regional teams to implement process improvements, support automation initiatives, and contribute to financial performance through cost diligence and departmental growth. Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and technical Customs knowledge are essential, along with the ability to mentor staff and maintain high operational standards.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of customs professionals to ensure high performance and continuous growth
Manage departmental P&L and drive strategic growth initiatives to expand service capabilities and profitability
Enhance the customer experience by delivering timely, accurate, and compliant brokerage services
Prepare and present operational reports and participate in customer business reviews
Conduct and lead both internal and external meetings to align on service expectations and performance
Perform audit reviews of all assigned brokerage files and customs payments to ensure accuracy and compliance
Maintain up‑to‑date customs compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
Oversee and manage all processes related to timely and accurate customs entry filing
Conduct onboarding meetings with new clients and create tailored client profiles and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Maximize the use of Shared Service Centers (SSC) and National Brokerage Service Centers (NBSC) to drive efficiency
Monitor and address customs rejections, requests for information, and correspondence from clients and government agencies
Ensure full compliance with all domestic and international shipping regulations
Maintain daily communication with overseas offices to support global coordination
Collaborate closely with internal departments to deliver a seamless and high‑quality customer experience
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned to support business objectives
What we would like you to bring
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Customs Brokerage
At least 3 years of proven success in a management or supervisory role
Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification required
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure while maintaining precision and attention to detail
Strong leadership and people management capabilities, with a track record of team development
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
