What You Will Do3>
Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specific patient population.
Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate.
Train and supervise medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.
May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Participate in specified health promotion, education, and prevention programs, as appropriate to the position.
Maintain department productivity thresholds.
Maintain faculty status in good standing with the CWRU SOM (if applicable).
Adhere to core physician obligations as outlined in the Physician Policy Manual.
Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
Abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, including annual PHI training and adherence to University Hospitals policies and procedures.
