Job Overview
ESD Homes is hiring a Director of Construction to manage our teams and construction process across our custom residential portfolio. You will lead and coach Project Managers, Pre-Construction Managers and Construction Coordinators, standardize execution to our SOPs, and keep schedule, budget, quality, and safety on track. The role oversees our entire field team, long term planning and expert construction execution for our current and future projects. This role reports to our CEO. An ideal candidate has proven Senior Project Management experience seeking to step into a director role. You will drive disciplined planning and construction coordination with outside design teams, ensure on site accuracy and thoroughly develop our team as we expand our work here in Atlanta and north to the lake regions of Georgia. Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and mentor Project Managers and Pre-Construction Manager. Conduct quarterly performance reviews and create individualized coaching plans. Lead weekly team syncs, fostering cohesion and accountability. Project Oversight
Monitor active projects for timeline, budget, and quality benchmarks. Partner with PMs to resolve complex construction issues and maintain delivery standards. Operations & Systems
Review reports from PMs and Construction Coordinator for performance tracking. Oversee long‑lead item procurement and approve major scope or cost changes. Serve as liaison for escalated client issues, ensuring fast, professional resolution. Manage key vendor and subcontractor relationships for performance and reliability. Strategic Planning
Align team operations with quarterly business goals. Identify and execute process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce risk. Collaborate with leadership on staffing forecasts and resource planning. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum 7 years of residential construction management experience. At least 3 years in a senior leadership or director‑level role. Deep expertise in high‑end custom residential builds and field operations. Strong team leadership and coaching skills. Proficient with project management software (JobTread preferred). Exceptional problem‑solving, planning, and communication capabilities. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred: NCPM Certification or equivalent PM training. Benefits
