Lead Data Engineer | Databricks | Medallion Location : Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite required from Day 1) Work Authorization : U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder required Salary : $140,000 - $150,000 + full benefits package
Position Summary Davis Technology Management is seeking a
Lead Data Engineer
to join one of our long-term enterprise clients in Phoenix.
This is a full-time W2 consulting role
onsite with a well-established 100+ year old company.
This is not a fully remote position . You’ll collaborate closely with a team of 5 onsite, with a small offshore team for support. Their projects support a large portfolio of applications with varied tech stacks. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable data pipelines using
Databricks
aligned with
Medallion Architecture
(Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
Apply dimensional
data modeling
including Star, Snowflake, Galaxy schema etc. to develop business reports, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all layers of the data architecture.
Support Power BI
and other analytics teams with well-structured data models and efficient query performance.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize
Databricks
jobs and workflows.
Required Skills
Experience as a
Lead
Data Architect
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake.
Deep understanding of
Medallion Architecture
principles (Bronze–Silver–Gold design).
Experience in
data modeling
for analytics and reporting use cases.
Good understanding of ETL/ELT design, data governance, and performance tuning.
Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with
Azure Data Services
(ADF, Data Lake, etc.).
Desirable Skills
Experience with Power BI report development or strong collaboration with BI teams.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Understanding of data security, lineage, and quality frameworks.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
