JOB SUMMARY This role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to oversee and mentor lower-level analysts in providing health system quality analytics for senior management, while demonstrating subject matter expertise for multiple data systems. The candidate will be responsible for guiding a team of analysts in the collection, validation, and interpretation of complex healthcare data to ensure accuracy and actionable insights. This position has a focus on the Texas Incentives for Physician and Professional Services (TIPPS) program as well as other healthcare quality and performance reporting needs. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in healthcare analytics and program reporting. The candidate must understand and be able to define business rules and create meaningful data visualizations to drive process improvement. Additionally, the candidate would have proven leadership skills to mentor peers, prioritize competing demands and manage deliverables to ensure high-quality work and drive process improvement that supports organizational excellence. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams – including operations and clinical leadership- to transform data into meaningful insights that support stakeholder decisions and improved patient outcomes. Analyzes and organizes data using the appropriate analytical and statistical methods, which includes:
Ability to analyze and evaluate information to support a decision or recommendation Critically examining the information and make judgements--test, critique, defend, and criticize the information Anticipate and plan strategies for overcoming obstacles
Designs, develops or recommends improvements to management reporting tools as needed. Sets team and departmental standards for reporting and analysis methodology. Leads lower level analysts in the collection, interpretation and analysis of clinical data to support organizational decision making, clinical and quality initiatives and strategic planning activities. Runs data queries and produces consistently accurate analyses with value added recommendations. Generally organizes, plans for scheduling, coordinating resources, and meeting deadlines. In addition to supporting the successful execution of assignments, these skills support the development of effective working relationships with stakeholders by facilitating trust and transparency. Sets team and departmental standards for project management templates, expectations and guidelines. Provides practical recommendations through thorough research on business process improvements and clinical operation benchmarks to directors and executive leaders. Assists in developing and implementing business strategies in departments to improve clinical outcomes and productivity. Leads executive level meetings with prior preparation such as meeting agendas, analytical presentations and project plans. Builds positive collaborative relationships with clinical leadership, departmental personnel, and executive sponsors. Assists managerial staff in consensus building through a combination of leadership and facilitation. Provides analytics architectural oversight and guides the process of developing business requirements documents. Enables the analytics teams to collaborate with the data warehouse department through entire development cycle. Ensures analyst teams record time spent on projects to meet cost-recovery requirements. Supervises lower level analysts. Significantly contributes to employee performance evaluations and recommends disciplinary actions, as needed. Assesses performance levels by monitoring results and providing positive and constructive feedback. Contributes significantly to annual performance evaluations. Performs other duties as assigned.
