Development Director
United Way of Henderson County
United Way of Henderson County (UWHC) is seeking a strategic, relationship‑driven Development Director to lead our resource development and marketing efforts and serve as a key member of our leadership team. This public‑facing role uses year‑round development and marketing strategies to engage community members and increase our impact in Henderson County.
The Development Director will:
Lead with a development mindset to identify and create opportunities that diversify our fundraising portfolio and expand our ability to positively impact local residents.
Use strong communication and project management skills to plan, coordinate, and implement a cohesive, effective development portfolio.
Evaluate, refine, and implement a comprehensive marketing and fundraising plan that increases community awareness, donor engagement, and overall giving.
Collaborate closely with staff to successfully execute marketing, mailings, and fundraising plans.
Develop and grow a robust grant‑funding portfolio to support new and existing programs.
Cultivate and steward relationships to expand major gifts and legacy giving.
Nurture long‑term relationships with donors and local businesses and connect them with meaningful engagement opportunities.
Serve on the UWHC leadership team as an active, collaborative team member.
This is a full‑time, exempt position (37.5 hours per week) with a salary range of $60,000–$70,000. A generous benefits package includes vacation, holiday, and PTO leave; health, dental, and life insurance; and a SEP retirement plan (see Personnel Policy for full benefit details).
