Optometrist Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages.
Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and amblyopia.
Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including fundus photography, visual fields, and OCT imaging.
Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses.
Collaborate with ophthalmology for surgical co-management.
Educate patients on eye health and preventive care.
Work closely with other specialties to ensure integrated patient care.
Stay current through continuing education.
Assist with staff hiring and training.
Represent Meridian at provider meetings, community events, and health-focused groups.
Perform related work as required, and other duties as assigned.
We are seeking Optometrist candidates with the following qualities
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid driver’s license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required if needed for the employee’s specific location.
