The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California’s Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services.

Job Purpose The Assembly Lead is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting mechanical parts using a variety of assembly equipment, fixtures and test equipment.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment or materials to the Production Supervisor

Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly

Assemble parts or units, and position, align and fasten units to assemblies, sub‑assemblies or frames, using hand tools and power tools

Connect cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications

Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and vises

Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures to correctly assemble mechanical parts and tools

Perform manual assembly and visual inspection of mechanical parts

Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assemble sequences of electromechanical units

Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping

File, lap and buff parts and sub‑assemblies using grease paddles or oil cans

Drill, tap, ream, countersink and spot‑face bolt holes in parts using drill press or portable power drills

Follow and provide feedback on assembly instructions and/or blueprints to install items such as hardware, wiring harnesses, panels, components, sub‑assemblies, etc.

Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts

Operate small cranes to transport or position large parts

Education and Experience

High School or College Courses

2–4+ years experience as a lead assembler

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Ability to work safely around chemicals and equipment

Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time

Verbal communication skills

Ability to observe and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the company

Repetitive work requiring strong dexterity and hand/eye coordination

Salary Range (annual): $47,840 – $54,080 ($23.00 – $26.00 per hour). Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate’s years of relevant work experience, education, certifications and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
