Responsibilities The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitionerwill work within The Center for Neurogastroenterology and GI Motility practice on all aspects of patient care including evaluation, diagnosis and education. The candidate must be able to work independently in a clinical setting. Experience preferred in a gastroenterology practice and/or surgical practice. Must be willing to travel to off sites.

Job Duties Include but are not limited to:

Provides treatment and patient care under the supervision of physician

Manages patient flow effectively and efficiently

Triages patient calls and accurately assesses patient needs. Accurately documents all correspondence with patient

Communicates effectively and efficiently with patients and their families

Completes disability paperwork in a manner consistent with office procedures

Assist in the care and management of inpatients under the supervision of physician

Patient assessment in ER and for hospital admission

Requirements

Must have completed a certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

License Requirements: Maryland PA License, Maryland NP Certification

Certification Requirements: NCCPA, ANCC/AAN

EPIC experience preferred

Must be computer literate or learn within 6 months

Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner

Must be able to work efficiently and possess the ability to make decisions when circumstances warrant such action

Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public

Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees

Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
