Senior Engineering Manager, Pixel Software Security

Overview As a Senior Engineering Manager, Pixel Software Security, you will lead the team responsible for building features and software experiences that enhance security and privacy on Pixel devices. You will develop and execute a roadmap to drive security for first‑party consumer devices and manage a global team of engineers across multiple sites. You will influence across teams, platforms and systems to deliver software security and privacy for custom hardware and silicon.
Responsibilities
Provide technical goals and strategy for Pixel Software Security. Design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap, balancing technology investments.
Drive and coordinate collaboration with teams within Platforms and Ecosystems and across Google.
Drive the silicon and hardware strategy from an Android/Pixel software perspective.
Review technical design from the team and guide technical discussions. Review experiments and guide project directions.
Lead and manage a team of engineers over a global footprint. Set expectations with people based on their level and role, and meet regularly to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in C, C++ or Python.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
5 years of experience in embedded security, SOC/silicon security or experience with security for consumer electronics.
Preferred qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
15 years of experience in engineering, and technical innovation with user facing products.
Experience with programming in one of the following: Java, C++, Rust or Python.
Experience in leading teams, while creating goals, and promoting engineering and product excellence.
Ability to develop product solutions.
