The Senior Manager, Must Win, Materials is responsible for leading the materials estimating, costing, and proposal development process to support competitive bids and strategic business growth for opportunities defined as critical to win. Business segments supported are Industrial, Smart Energy, Aerospace and Defense and Healthtech. Managed opportunities will include a wide variety of products ranging from PCBA to large complex electro-mechanical systems. This role oversees the cross-functional coordination required to generate accurate material cost models, evaluates risk, drives sourcing strategies, and ensures proposal excellence. The Senior Manager will leverage deep expertise in costing strategies (TCOO), BOM analysis, supply chain dynamics, and customer requirements to deliver high-quality materials proposals that position the organization for success. The Senior Manager will lead a team of materials professionals and serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership, business development teams, and technical subject matter experts. The successful candidate will have a heightened sense of urgency regarding timeline, pricing competitiveness and proposal accuracy to the strategy to win. Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end materials costing process including SC strategy to win, BOM validation and RFQ coordination. Present analyses, cost drivers, risks, and recommendations to leadership. Develop and refine materials proposal processes to increase accuracy and efficiency. Integrate market intelligence into cost models to develop competitive pricing. Provide guidance on component alternatives and cost-down opportunities. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the proposal process, focusing on efficiency, quality, and overall win rate. Deep understanding of PCBA BOMs, HLA BOMs, and BTP commodities; interpret technical documentation and specifications to ensure accurate costing. Identify and mitigate BOM gaps and act as liaison between customers and internal teams for immediate resolution of issues. Assist with Data Management & Systems Proficiency, including PDM and Materials Pricing systems; analyze cost trends and pricing benchmarks. Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence: Lead and mentor materials analysts and PDM teams; build consensus across engineering, sourcing, business development, and customer management teams; influence decision-making through structured, data-driven communication. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve materials proposal and costing processes; develop tools and templates to increase accuracy and reduce cycle time; support initiatives for materials intelligence and supply chain resilience. Qualifications

Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes. In-depth knowledge of global supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management. Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight deadlines. Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers. Strong presentation skills. Ability to effectively lead, manage, assess, train and motivate a diverse group of employees. Advanced Microsoft Excel Knowledge; Basic Statistical Analysis Knowledge applied to Supply Chain. Typical Experience

7–10+ years in materials, supply chain, component engineering, or proposals. 3+ years in a people management or supervisory role, leading a multi-disciplinary team. Proven track record of leading and winning high-value, complex proposals (e.g., $50M+ contract value). In-depth knowledge of components, assemblies, and BOM structures; strong analytical and technical interpretation skills. Proficiency in Excel, Power BI and other data analytics tools; advanced proficiency in Product Data Management/Material Pricing systems. Proven experience building and presenting material cost models; exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and negotiate with executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct authority. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Logistics Management, or related discipline, or an equivalent proven track record in an EMS or similar environment. Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space. Occasional overnight travel is required. Typical Benefits
