Registered Nurse II - Neuroscience Unit - Sign On $15,000 (250001BS) NeuroScience Unit (NSU) is an 18-bed monitored unit providing family-centered nursing care to patients of all ages—from newborns to young adults—with neurology and neurosurgery problems. The unit supports surveillance monitoring cameras, intracranial pressure and cardio/respiratory monitoring, and clinical services such as video electroencephalography (VEEG), extraventricular drains, encephalitis, and neurologic trauma. All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children's National Policies and Procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children's National supports development of RN relationships within the community related to health and well-being.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Associate's Degree ASN (Required) Bachelor's Degree BSN (Preferred) Minimum Work Experience 1 year RN work experience Required Skills/Knowledge The licensed Registered Nurse will successfully complete the hospital and nursing orientation at Children’s National. Identify resources and know when to ask for assistance. Demonstrated leadership and management skills. Identify self learning needs and seek resources to meet those needs. Required Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia dependent upon location of practice (Required). CPR (Required). Continually assess and plan educational needs throughout hospital/clinic stay and before discharge. Organize care to complete assignments on time. Demonstrate caring in all encounters with patient and family as evidenced by feedback from parents and patient satisfaction scores. Safety
