A hospital in Union County, New Jersey is seeking a Gastroenterologist for inpatient coverage in the Surgery Department. Coverage is needed 7 days per week, 2 weeks per month. The physician will work independently with access to hospitalist and intensivist support. Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient GI consultations and procedures
- Daily rounding and scheduled OR block time
- Emergency on-call coverage
- Manage a range of conditions including GI bleeding, pancreatitis, and malignancies
- Procedures may include ERCP (diagnostic & therapeutic), EGD, colonoscopy, PEG, esophageal stenting, and more
- Average patient load: 5-10 per day
- Documentation via Epic EMR
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- ACLS certification required
- Experience with advanced GI procedures preferred
- Ability to work independently in an inpatient setting
- Eligible for emergency or temporary hospital privileges
