    About the Opportunity

    We are seeking skilled Dermatopathologists to join a well-established, highly resourced practice in the Tampa Bay, FL area.     Role Overview

    This is an on-site position responsible for the accurate interpretation of dermatopathology specimens, participation in frozen section procedures, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support high-quality patient outcomes. The full-time role includes both internal lab responsibilities and structured travel to clinical locations for frozen section pathology.

    Key Responsibilities Dermatopathology (Internal Lab)
    • Perform microscopic examination of biopsies, surgical specimens, and frozen tissue samples.

    • Diagnose a broad range of dermatologic conditions including cancers, inflammatory diseases, and infections.

    • Utilize molecular diagnostics, immunohistochemistry, and digital pathology tools.

    • Prepare detailed pathology reports with clear diagnostic impressions.

    • Participate in quality assurance programs and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

    • Stay current with advances in pathology through CME, research, and professional engagement.

    Frozen Section Pathology (Travel Component) - Full-Time Role Only
    • Travel 2 days per week to designated clinical sites (St. Petersburg or Brooksville, FL).

    • Perform and interpret frozen section pathology on-site in a mobile lab.

    • Conduct immediate evaluations; no additional duties required while on-site.

    • Travel limited to one site per day (no multiple-site travel in a single day).

    Qualifications
    • Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution

    • Board Certified in Dermatopathology (required)

    • Fellowship training in Dermatopathology (mandatory)

    • Eligible for or holding a valid Florida medical license

    • Proficiency with modern pathology techniques, including molecular diagnostics

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret high-volume caseloads

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

    Experience
    • Open to new graduates and 2026 fellowship completers

    • Experience with high-volume dermatopathology is a plus

    • Must be comfortable reading 100-150 cases per day (dermpath reads)
