Location: Moonlight Studios, Chicago
Moonlight Studios Chicago is seeking a dynamic and experienced Venue Director to lead operations and drive growth. This role requires a charismatic leader with a deep understanding of the event production and hospitality industries, strong sales acumen, and a commitment to exceptional client service.

You’ll play a key role in managing live, virtual, and hybrid events while overseeing venue operations, driving business development, and ensuring client satisfaction at every step. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive venue sales and revenue generation for Moonlight Studios

  • Expand Moonlight Studios’ brand presence in the Chicago market through strategic marketing initiatives

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of live, hybrid, and virtual events and productions

  • Provide onsite leadership and support during events, including nights and weekends

  • Collaborate with clients to define event goals and execute custom solutions

  • Lead internal and external communications to ensure smooth event planning and delivery

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships

  • Manage event scheduling, client walkthroughs, and pre-event planning meetings

  • Prepare proposals, contracts, and client invoices; oversee all billing and payment terms

  • Track vendor commissions and maintain accurate reporting

  • Ensure consistent quality control and execution across all events

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in venue management, event production/design sales, agency, or account management

  • Proven success in managing high-profile corporate or social events
  • Previous production experience and familiarity with event production terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Keynote (Mac-based)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (3–5 years)

  • Ability to cultivate relationships within the social, corporate meetings, and trade show industries

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience selling live and virtual event production to major accounts

  • Knowledge of venue operations and event logistics

  • Comfortable working in both startup and corporate environments

  • Strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Confident communicator and polished presenter

  • Adept at negotiating contracts and closing high-value deals

  • Willing towork weekends and adapt to changing priorities on short notice
