Job Summary The Interim Chief Nursing Officer reports directly to the National Division President with a dotted line to the Interim Chief Executive Officer, and will be an integral part of the Transition Support Division and Operations Assessment Teams. This position will actively participate in the transitioning of new acquisitions to the LifePoint Health, Inc. operational, financial, and strategic platforms. In addition, this position will be the primary resource for filling critical interim CNO vacancies at the hospital level and/or providing ad-hoc assistance to hospitals in the clinical operations areas.
General Responsibilities
Clinical operational and financial review of new acquisition opportunities. Development of business models and action plans to achieve operating results post-transition
Actively participates in the organization’s Operational Assessment Teams with particular focus on process improvement, labor productivity, contract labor reduction, resource management initiatives, and quality assurance
Primary resource for interim CNO needs across the company, including new acquisitions
Assists in the development and maintenance of the company’s productivity reporting system
Serves as key point person for the organization’s efforts in clinical productivity improvement and contract labor reduction
Willingness to travel a must (>80%), and must be a hands‑on, results oriented leader
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Nursing Administration
Masters preferred, Registered Nurse
Must be proficient in all major software packages and have hands‑on experience with all Lifepoint Hospitals, Inc. financial reporting systems
Greater than 5 years of prior hospital CNO experience in LifePoint or HCA legacy companies
In depth knowledge of external clinical quality reporting requirements
Physical Demands / Working Conditions Requires prolonged sitting and some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment and involves frequent contact with staff and the public.
