The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all snow and landscape activity within their branch while leading their team to successful outcomes and achieving company and financial objectives.

Areas of responsibility General Responsibilities

Build branch plan to achieve sales, operational, and financial objectives and execute with team through strong leadership and accountability.

Lead and grow all team members to create a successful, team minded branch.

To insure that all safety policies are enforced with regards to all company operations.

To complete all required paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.

Understand and build plan to execute on company goals and objectives.

Sales Responsibilities

Develop and continually evolve a fully-integrated, professional sales organization

Develop sales goals and KPIs to track renewals, new sales conversion and close rates.

Provide weekly sales updates to senior management which include forward looking statements to project weekly, monthly, seasonal sales totals as well as comparisons to prior year(s) results.

Prepare presentation materials for more involved bids as needed

Develop and implement marketing initiatives to help facilitate sales goals and meet annual company sales/profitability objectives.

Identify new tools to further streamline the lead/sales generation process.

Develop a process with key milestone dates to ensure a seamless transition from seasonal operations in to the selling season.

Operations Responsibilities

Lead Operations team to build strong plan to execute efficiently, safely, and profitably.

Monitor benchmarks and KPIs with team and report activity to management.

Manage fleet asset utilization and efficiency while working with management on procurement strategies.

Assist with winter storm planning and physically help manage storms; monitor crew activity and customer service communication.

Ensures the timely and accurate completion of required administrative, HR, and financial activities daily.

On-going Goals and objectives

To continually improve knowledge and understanding of company’s snow removal and landscape operations.

To continually improve organization and efficiency with regards to his/her responsibilities.

To set personnel performance goals and objectives annually.

Actively participate in personal self-improvement by reading and participating in self-motivation and goal setting programs.

Increase overall sales of snow & landscaping within branch while maintaining margins and profitability.

Continually maintain or improve moral of company ‘partners’ and sub-contractors.

Mentor ‘partners’ and sub contractors to reinforce company culture and vision.

Achieve certified snow professional status within two years of employment.

Implement and enforce company policies and standard operating procedures.

Manage and maintain positive relationships with contracting firms, vendors and sub-contractors

Seek out ways to improve efficiencies in all facets of the business.

Ensure that team members are meeting company expectations.

Specific Responsibilities to oversee and/or do

Facilitate all sales and marketing efforts in snow division.

Assist in strategic planning, marketing and finance planning.

Supports company quest to become industry leader within company’s markets.

Set personal performance goals and objectives annually

Conducts meetings as required with District Managers, Operations Managers, Office, Fleet and Senior Management staff.

Attends, contributes and participates actively in all required company meetings.

Contributes to efforts in reaching company goals and objectives.

Reinforces through performance the company

mission statement .

To participate in establishing company goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements to meet job eligibility

Extensive knowledge and understanding of snow and landscape operations.

Must possess excellent verbal and written skills.

Must have excellent oral communication, inter-personnel, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Must be computer literate; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Must possess excellent math skills and strong aptitude to understand and analyze financial statements relating to snow & ice division.

Must possess cost accounting skills including budget preparation and financial projections.

Must be able to perform take-offs and prepare detailed bid documents based on specifications for snow & ice control services.
