In November 2021 Nuance partnered with MD Holdings to help accelerate growth, both organically and through acquisition. Nuance has fulfillment facilities in CA, NV and FL and sells into 50+ countries through international distributor relationships. The Company has recently broadened their consumer-oriented reach through ecommerce platforms and has invested in an Inside Sales team to further drive growth of new and existing customers. Our BRANDS are Cryodose, Biodermis, and Beutlitch, specializing in medical products. CryoDose , the legacy brand, offers FDA-cleared cryotherapy and topical anesthetic products available at over 25,000 locations and online. Biodermis, acquired in 2022, designs and markets wound care and silicone scar management products, including the BIOCORNEUM SPF scar gel, serving patients in the U.S. and over 50 countries. Beutlich , acquired in 2024, provides topical anesthetic products for medical and dental professionals, with a range of delivery methods such as gels, sprays, and liquids. Together, these companies cater to a broad spectrum of healthcare needs, from cryotherapy to advanced scar healing and anesthetics. Job Overview As Director of IT at Nuance Medical, you will lead the development and execution of our technology strategy, overseeing infrastructure, systems, and service delivery to support our innovative medical device and pharmaceutical products. You will manage relationships with outsourced IT providers, ensuring performance aligns with operational, security, and compliance standards across our manufacturing, distribution, and commercial operations. A key responsibility will be evaluating and shaping the long-term IT operating model—determining whether to maintain outsourcing, build internal capabilities, or adopt a hybrid approach. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring scalability, data security, and regulatory adherence in all IT functions. This role calls for a strategic, hands-on leader with expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and healthcare compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that enhance efficiency, support business growth, and meet evolving industry requirements. Duties and Responsibilities 1.IT Strategy and Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives, compliance requirements and growth plans. Acting as a strategic advisor to the executive team, providing insights on technology trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the outsourced IT service providers , ensuring contract compliance, SLAs, and high-quality service delivery. Assess and make strategic recommendations regarding the future of IT operations—evaluating the benefits, risks, and costs of bringing IT in-house versus continuing an outsourced or hybrid model. Build and mentor an internal IT team as needed, based on the strategic direction of IT operations. 2. Infrastructure Management and Operations Oversee the reliable and secure operation of all IT systems, including network infrastructure, enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, QMS, PLM, etc.), and cloud services. Ensuring the stability and performance that are critical to operations and regulatory compliance. Participate in the cross-functional selection process and then lead the implementation of next generation ERP system to ensure the business is positioned for growth and scalability. Ensure alignment of outsourced services with internal business needs, manufacturing operations, and global distribution networks. Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning, in collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders. 3. Cybersecurity and Compliance Partner with outsourced IT security teams to ensure the implementation of robust cybersecurity frameworks protecting sensitive data, IP, and operational systems. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PCI, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, and other relevant healthcare and data privacy regulations. Manage IT audits, risk assessments, security training and vulnerability scans to proactively address potential threats. 4. Vendor and Budget Management Manage existing IT service contracts, including outsourced providers, consultants, and software vendors Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for strategic initiatives. Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements to maximize value for the company. 5. IT Support and User Enablement Oversee the delivery of end-user support services, ensuring Nuance Medical’s team receive timely, effective technical assistance. Facilitate technology adoption and training programs to enhance employee productivity and engagement. 6. Enterprise Applications and Data Integration Support analytics and reporting initiatives to enable data-driven decision-making across sales, operations, and finance. Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and R&D teams to align IT systems with evolving business requirements. Evaluate and recommend new technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, data analytics) to drive innovation in product development, manufacturing, and customer engagement. Required Qualification and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably within the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences sector. Advanced proficiency in IT systems, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, QMS, PLM). Experience with mid-size ERP system implementations and ongoing administration (NetSuite, Acumatica, Business Central, etc.). Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, and cybersecurity best practices. Proven experience managing IT compliance in regulated industries (FDA, ISO 13485, HIPAA). Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Willingness to travel up to 15-20% for business needs.
