Responsibilities
- Evaluate pricing and transportation options through a network of internal and external suppliers to provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist with day-to-day dock activity and maintain freight and warehouse operations integrity.
- Determine efficient, cost-effective, time-sensitive processes for requested Estes Forwarding Service.
- Conduct assignments evaluating multiple transportation options (pricing, timing, availability, volume) with frequent direction from management.
- Serve as the front-line communicator for customer and vendor disputes, using exceptional customer service to preserve satisfaction and reputation.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proactively identify shipments at risk of service failure and take control to ensure on-time delivery.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with service providers.
- Work flexible hours and various shifts, including a 24‑hour on‑call rotation when requested by management.
- Document all shipments with detailed trace notes and accurate data entry.
- Maintain on‑time service integrity, continually monitoring and updating shipments per EFW management policies.
- Ensure 100% compliance with TSA regulations regarding the Indirect Air Carrier Security Program and Shipper’s Security Endorsements.
- Utilize current tracking applications to update, communicate and monitor shipment status.
- Move freight, stock or other materials using hand or equipment as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent) and 1‑3 years of experience in transportation or logistics.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
- Proficient in completing air and ground shipping documents both electronically and manually.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours to meet deadlines as directed by management.
- Strong work ethic, positive demeanor, and cooperative attitude with customers and coworkers.
- Professional appearance, attitude and image with internal and external clients.
- Effective problem solving, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- English fluency required.
- Meet all deadlines 100% of the time and maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Knowledge of continental U.S. geography and effective time management.
- Ability to multi‑task, adapt quickly and solve problems with standardized solutions.
- Eligible to work in the United States; EFW will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization.
