Job Description Archbold Maintenance Crews perform general grounds , vehicle, building maintenance and repairs. We are seeking a dedicated **Maintenance Technician** who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and tackle a variety of tasks to keep our facilities running smoothly.
This role requires a proactive problem-solver with strong mechanical skills and a willingness to work in environments that may be dirty, greasy, or physically demanding.
An Ideal candidate will be hardworking energetic and dependable. Must be able to work independently, take initiative and have valid driver license with good driving history.
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions. Handle hands-on tasks such as mowing, weeding, landscaping, painting, and general carpentry. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and supply inventory. Work in various
environmentsincluding
outdoor settings, confined spaces, and areas where dirt, mud, sand, grease, and dust are common. Safely operate tools, machinery, and heavy equipment as needed for maintenance and repairs. Will handle plumbing issues such as:
Leaky Pipes
Small drips or major leaks that can lead to water damage and mold growth. Clogged Drains
Blockages in sinks, toilets, or floor drains caused by debris, grease, or buildup. Running Toilets
Malfunctioning fill valves or flappers that waste water and increase utility costs. Low Water Pressure
Issues with pipes, sediment buildup, or faulty fixtures that affect water flow. Water Heater Problems
Lack of hot water, strange noises, or leaks from the unit. Burst Pipes
Especially in colder environments, frozen pipes can crack and cause major flooding. Sewer Line Backups
Serious issues where wastewater flows back into the building, often requiring urgent repairs.
Qualifications: Proven experience in general maintenance, repair work, or a related field. Knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing. HVAC systems are a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects, work in physically demanding environments, and handle messy tasks with confidence. Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting issues. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights or weekends as needed. Work Environment: This role requires working in varied conditions, including outdoor spaces, dusty warehouses, and greasy machine shops. Candidates should be comfortable getting their hands dirty and tackling maintenance challenges head-on. Candidates will on occasion do work in elevated spaces such as attics, roofs or ladders.
