Interventional Cardiologist – Academic Appointment
The Department of Cardiology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full‑time Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing academic faculty. This position combines a busy clinical practice with the opportunity to teach, mentor, and contribute to academic medicine in a collaborative environment.
Clinical Responsibilities include:
Outpatient clinic, including outreach
Attending on the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) service and/or consult service
Participation in the STEMI call schedule
Performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab
Academic & Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach and mentor interventional and cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students
Serve as one of the core faculty for the interventional cardiology fellowship program
Contribute to ongoing clinical research and scholarly work
Support the growth of the interventional cardiology program within an academic setting
Qualifications:
MD/DO or related degree with board certification or board eligibility in Cardiovascular Disease
Formal training in Interventional Cardiology through an accredited fellowship program
Board certification/eligibility in Interventional Cardiology
Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment
Leadership qualities and assets are highly valued
Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care
Passion for providing high‑quality care to patients and advancing the field of cardiology
Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents, cardiology fellows, and other healthcare providers
Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in the state of New York
