Stamford Health is seeking a Per-Diem Radiology Aide to join our team! The Radiology Tech Aide assists the technologist(s) by providing support with the patient preparation for exam, transporting, clerical/data entry, screening, and room readiness. The aide ensures patient privacy and excellent customer service and can multi-task and address issues independently, as necessary. Shift:

Weekends as needed (8-hour shifts, flexible times) Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent

required. At least one year of experience in a Radiology Dept. highly preferred. Active BLS or Heart Saver certification. Certification preferred. Responsibilities: 1.Respects and protects the patient’s rights to confidentiality and privacy and discloses information only for professional purposes which are in the patient’s best interests with full consideration of their legal rights. 2.Provides safe patient care by verifying patient identification according to established policy and assures the presence of any pre-authorizations, pre-certifications, screening forms, and all laboratory reports indicated. 3.Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, and other hazardous substances. 4.Efficient in use of all required information systems’ applications (RIS, PACS, CD Burner, etc.) for data entry (charge entry, updating patient information), as well as patient tracking. 5.Aids with timely interpretation through communication with radiology facilitator and/or assists with transfer of imaging studies to teleradiology services, when indicated. 6.Responsible for assisting with the stocking of supplies (medical/surgical, linen, etc.) utilizing “first in, first out” method and tracking inventory. 7.Assists with patient and room readiness, including patient dress, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients, restroom needs, as well as ensuring clean and stocked patient care areas (e.g., changing rooms, waiting areas, exam room, etc.) 8.Attends scheduled staff meetings, inservice education opportunities and participates in continuing education programs.
