Tax Manager Location:

Hybrid NYC (2-3 days in the office)

Salary:

$130k-150k base

A prominent, global financial services organization is seeking a strategic and technically proficient leader to serve as the Manager of US Tax Operations. This high-impact role directly reports to the Managing Director, U.S. Region, and is a key consultant responsible for overseeing all aspects of US federal, state, and local tax compliance, planning, strategy, and reporting.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert focused on risk management, optimization, and driving informed business decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities US Tax Compliance & Reporting

Lead the tax reporting and compliance function for all U.S. entities, including corporate income tax, sales & use tax filings, estimated payments, and extensions.

Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process for all U.S. entities in accordance with ASC 740 (including current/deferred taxes, ETR, and FIN 48 analysis).

Maintain state and local income tax and sales & use tax nexus and taxability studies.

Assist with foreign affiliate reporting and related tax computations (e.g., E&P).

Strategic Planning & Advisory

Develop, evaluate, and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position and minimize liabilities.

Serve as the key tax point of contact for all U.S. operations, advising cross‑functional teams on tax implications for new ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and restructuring initiatives.

Ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements for all U.S. entities.

Prepare cash tax forecasting schedules and advise on inbound/outbound U.S. financing activities.

Audits & Governance

Coordinate and manage all federal and state tax audits, inquiries, and notices.

Assist with statutory and regulatory financial audits, including the compilation of footnotes and supporting audit schedules.

Qualifications

CPA Designation or Master’s in Taxation preferred.

Minimum six years of progressive tax experience, with a preference for public accounting or multinational corporate environments.

Excellent technical expertise in tax compliance, provision (ASC 740), or advisory services.

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS is highly desirable.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and highly accurate with excellent attention to detail.

Strong work ethic, flexible nature, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
