Westaff is looking to hire an experienced Affordable Housing Recertification Specialist for a property management company located in Hartford, CT!
Pay:
$22/hr
Hours:
Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
The responsibilities of the Affordable Housing Recertification Specialist are:
Conduct annual and interim recertifications for project-based residents, ensuring compliance with HUD and LIHTC guidelines.
Collect, verify, and process documentation related to income, assets, expenses, and household composition.
Calculate rent and Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) using HUD regulations and internal software systems (e.g., Yardi).
Issue rent change notices and update tenant files accordingly.
Communicate clearly and professionally with residents and internal staff regarding program rules, required documents, and deadlines.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident files and electronic records in accordance with HUD audit standards.
Prepare and submit reports to supervisors or regulatory agencies as required.
Participate in audits, inspections, or reviews conducted by HUD, state, or local agencies.
Stay current on HUD regulations, CT housing laws, and program changes through ongoing training and development.
The requirements of the Affordable Housing Recertification Specialist are:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in HUD housing programs, Section 8/LIHTC, or property management –
REQUIRED.
Working knowledge of HUD regulations, Fair Housing laws, and CT affordable housing programs.
Proficiency in housing software (Yardi)
Bilingual Spanish –
REQUIRED
Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS)
Tax Credit Specialist (CP3 and higher)
