Harvard Medical School, Boston The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a full-time mid-career to senior academic hematopathologist. BIDMC is a tertiary care facility with 743 licensed beds and is an internationally renowned teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. It is also associated with an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center, with a strong and growing focus on hematologic malignancies. The BIDMC Department of Pathology has launched strategic initiatives in cutting-edge Precision Diagnostics, including cancer genomics, multiplex biomarker theranostics, and computational/digital pathology. Additionally, the department is engaged in a new clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians to establish New England's only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. This collaboration aims to bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine dedicated to defying cancer. We seek an active, energetic, team-oriented faculty member to help shape our future agenda and take leadership in developing these initiatives. Candidates should possess strong hematopathology diagnostic skills, with expertise in advanced flow cytometry and molecular diagnostics (including NGS and FISH). A strong interest in developing the role of Pathology in clinical trials, including new companion diagnostics, is desirable. Applicants with a robust clinical, translational, or laboratory-based research program are encouraged to apply. Candidates with existing NIH grant funding will be supported with research space and start-up funds to expand their programs. The successful candidate will join a team of hematopathologists, cytogeneticists, molecular diagnosticians, residents, and fellows, providing diagnostics for benign and malignant hematology, stem cell transplantation, and the cancer vaccine and T-cell therapies center at BIDMC. Applicants must be board certified in Pathology (AP or AP/CP) and Hematopathology. Board certification in Molecular Pathology, including NGS experience, is a significant plus. The candidate will be appointed as a full-time faculty member of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank appropriate to their experience.
