Job Summary The Supply Chain Lead manages ERP data, production orders, and purchase orders. This role will maintain and create production schedules according to customer needs while maximizing effectiveness in all aspects of the production process. This position’s key objectives are:
Balance incoming sales orders with existing capacity and backlog
Distribute upcoming schedules to the team leads and supervisors
Coordinate with our production team to ensure ideal coverage
Place purchase orders for material based on MRP
Manage the inventory turns on existing and future inventory items
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Handle customer inquiries as needed
Create and manage production orders to ensure timeline fulfillment of customer orders and stock inventory
Support development, implementation, and update of the daily and weekly production schedules
Add incoming sales to the master production schedule based on capacity and create the corresponding job packet
Place purchase orders for necessary raw materials and finished goods
Provide communication to production team regarding existing orders, challenges, and forecasting
Help streamline reporting, production tracking, planning tools, etc.
Assist in reporting weekly, monthly, and quarterly results for on-time delivery
Run production jobs and ensure completion to meet departmental needs
Manage the production order process – ensure timely delivery of job creation and printing
Complete closure process for finished production jobs while ensuring test information is filed properly
Work with accounting to ensure purchase orders and receipt information matches
Coordinate trade show & demo equipment with marketing / project management
Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
Experience with MS Office is required
Strong organizational insight and problem-solving ability
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. A college degree is preferred
Experience with MS Office is required
Three years in production planning or other manufacturing support experience
Experience in a buying or procurement role preferred
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Must be able to traverse the production facility
