Senior Refurbishment Operations Technician (Nights - B Shift Sun‑Wed)

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single‑configuration, heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle that can carry people and payloads to low‑Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond.

Shifts: Days and Nights.
Responsibilities
Maintenance of spaceflight hardware and equipment.
Replacement of electrical wire harnesses and instrumentation.
Drilling close‑tolerance, precision holes in a variety of metals and composites.
Complex mechanical assembly.
Crane rigging and lifting operations.
Assist engineers in reviewing design concepts, providing feedback for improvements.
Familiarity working with assembly fixture tooling.
Review and follow written work instructions for complex mechanical installations.
Innovate and improve processes to increase efficiency of operations.
Training will start on day shift and may last several months.
Apply technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
Minimum Qualifications
Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space.
8+ years’ experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, offshore operations or related fields.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
Ability to read, understand, and use technical manuals and detailed work instructions.
Experience and comfortability working in both research and flight environments.
Knowledge and experience with personal protective equipment.
Knowledge of different types of aerospace fittings and seals.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
Use of precision measuring instruments and attention to detail.
Familiarity with hydrostatic, hydraulic, and pneumatic testing.
Experience with thread insert installation and thread tapping tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as be a self‑starter.
Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in small, restricted spaces.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be able to gain U.S. Space Force DBIDS access credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
A&P license or equivalent experience in integration and test of flight systems and structures.
10+ years of experience in launch vehicle, propulsion system assembly, vehicle integration, or aircraft assembly and maintenance.
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight‑critical hardware.
Experience with 3‑D Measurement Tools such as Faro Arms, Trackers and Verisurf software.
Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Hydrogen Peroxide, RP‑1, and cryogenics.
Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings) and pressurized system safety.
Knowledge of 3‑D CAD tools (ProEngineer's preferred).
