The position is
Outpatient , 40 hours per week, Day Shift, Benefit Eligible, with NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS. BJC Medical Group is the multi‑specialty physician‑led organization of BJC HealthCare and includes over 600 doctors and advanced practice providers. BJC Medical Group has provided access to extraordinary care in over 145 locations and over 25 specialties in the greater St. Louis area. Barnes West Primary Care specializes in Family Medicine and is located on the campus of Barnes‑Jewish West County Hospital. Role Purpose
The Patient Services Representative acts as the initial point of contact for front office activity and helps direct the patient flow process at the physician office. The position performs patient check‑ins, appointment scheduling, and maintains patient financial records. It may also serve as a switchboard operator as needed. Responsibilities
Handle telephone calls from patients and staff; forward calls requiring triage. Perform receptionist duties with close attention to detail and professionalism. Verify health insurance payment information and educate patients on applicable regulations; collect payments and record data. Enter service charges, including assignment of diagnostic codes and all physician and clinic related charges. Coordinate information with Central Billing Office to ensure all charges are captured and properly collected. Minimum Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or GED. Experience
