HUB Operations Coordinator

Overview The HUB Operations Coordinator is responsible for performing load planning activities and coordinating load assignments. The role monitors inbound and outbound freight at a HUB location, provides guidance to station personnel regarding routings, carrier assignment, and other load planning activities. They act as a liaison between the freight‑forwarding station and the AIT Middle Mile Network HUB operation and provide communication, training, and guidance to station management.
Responsibilities
Communicate daily with station managers to encourage usage of the AIT Middle Mile Network.
Identify opportunities routed outside the network and ensure freight is injected into the Network.
Guide load quality and expectations within the Middle Mile Network HUB operation during daily interactions with dock personnel.
Provide routing suggestions based on service‑level requirements.
Update the AS400 with departure times and other necessary information.
Coordinate daily taskings according to priorities, adjusting as more data is received.
Provide loadouts to HUB Operations Supervisor or station personnel for linehauls, ensuring proper paperwork.
Collect and present shift activity information to the HUB Operations Supervisor or Domestic Transportation Manager.
Proactively communicate with customers about shipment status.
Investigate misrouted freight, OS&D and other discrepancies.
Move materials using a forklift and perform warehouse checks.
Process inbound and outbound documents, reporting discrepancies.
Process data to inform KPI status to internal and external customers.
Communicate with AIT Middle Mile Network Corporate Operations Team regarding load and routing requirements.
Operate with minimal supervision and provide training and guidance to others.
Occasionally communicate with station managers outside the assigned region.
Develop relationships with LTL carrier partners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications Education
High School Diploma (Required)
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
Experience
3+ years in Transportation or Logistics (Required)
1+ year LTL or HUB Operations Experience (Preferred)
1+ year Freight Coordination, Customer Service or related experience (Preferred)
1+ year Dangerous Goods Handling (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Perform all aspects of HUB operations including customer service, dispatch, and freight routing.
Use analytical thinking to translate data into actionable results.
Make decisions based on judgment and experience.
Analyze complex issues and pursue alternative solutions.
Become a subject matter expert on the Middle Mile Network.
Licenses & Certifications
Forklift Certification – required on hire.
Dangerous Goods certification within 90 days (Preferred).
