Responsibilities Primary focus is sales and business development for clients in the Southern US, providing new contacts for business, initiating opportunity development, developing RFP responses with our engineering teams, and collaborating with manufacturing suppliers and distributors in the region.
Establishes new client accounts and maintains industry contacts leading to increased sales and long‑term repeat business
Provides broad support of industry: Oil & Gas, Data Center, Semiconductor, Spec Chem, Pulp & Paper, and Power/Water Utility
Obtains leads from professional networks, industry conferences, channel relationships, market reports, vendors, and internal personnel
Manages and reports on sales pipeline using WM CRM tools (Salesforce), schedules team tasks/activities, and follows up
Leverages technical knowledge of products by leading controls vendors in supporting client project understanding and positioning the WM team
Maintains network of industry supplier relations with vendors such as Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, Schneider, Inductive Automation, Aveva, Iconics, ABB, GE Digital
Develops and presents proposals to clients on WM engineering services and integrated systems
Monitors regional industry to assist in business unit sales plans and forecasts for supporting area engineering offices
Acts as liaison between customers, business unit, project management, and engineers, ensuring the voice of the customer is heard
Review commercial terms with WM management and coordinate available resources within operations
Finalize review of customer orders and coordinate contracts with operations team to ensure clear scope, schedule, and budget
Provides timely response on internal reporting needs for leadership (quarterly sales report, expenses, timesheets)
Minimum Requirements Education A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering; preferred majors are Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. A technical degree with equivalent industry experience may be substituted.
Experience 10+ years’ experience in industry. Successful track record of business development of process systems solutions and control system integration with a variety of industries and clients. Detailed knowledge of hardware and software in the industry; application or design experience with an OEM, A/E firm, Systems Integrator, or Engineering firm is preferred. Must have established local contacts and a proven plan for market penetration, expansion, and diversification.
Physical Demands of Position Seeing, hearing, clear speech, driving, and ability to travel distances. Anticipated travel of 25‑50%.
Working Environment Standard office environment with frequent use of personal computer and office equipment. Ideally, the candidate is able to work in our Dallas or Houston offices for part of the week to collaborate with our engineering team. Remote work for part of the week is acceptable.

Salary Range $140,000 – $190,000 annually depending on qualifications plus commission and employee stock program.
