At Hot Topic, we’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating the most amazing in‑store experience for customers and employees. We’re looking for a Full‑Time Assistant Manager who will help lead the loudest store in the mall. You’ll support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives related to sales targets, recruiting, and development. You’ll be a blend of Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker—able to handle anything that comes your way while driving sales and building lifelong relationships with customers.
What You'll Do
Support the Store Manager in achieving the sales plan and/or compensation sales goals.
Help recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store.
Serve as the store’s #1 fan—create buzz and customer engagement through promotion of new products, social media, and services such as BOPIS and curbside pickup.
Provide leadership around operational excellence, balancing ops, delegation/autonomy, and customer‑first selling practices.
Oversee shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules.
Collaborate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends and customer feedback.
Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy to hit sales targets.
Merchandise the store compellingly, using planograms as a guide and launching all promotions on time.
Develop a high‑performing, customer‑focused team in partnership with the Store Manager.
What You'll Need
At least 1–2 years of retail store management experience.
Proven ability to lead teams to success with strong communication, recruiting, and operational skills.
Strong time‑management, professionalism, and a drive to develop associates.
High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is a plus.
Resilience and adaptability in a fast‑changing retail environment.
Ability to navigate the store, merchandise product, pack/unpack boxes (up to 50 lb) and perform reasonable accommodations if needed.
Salary : $20.45 – $24.55 an hour. Please note the pay range starts as listed, but final salary will depend on education, location, meeting job requirements, training, and experience.
Location : Lynnwood, WA.
Seniority Level : Mid‑Senior.
