Purpose of Job Supervise inventory analysts and ensure efficient and accurate inventory control processes, optimize stock levels, and support the overall supply‑chain operations while maintaining Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance. Leads Inventory Control for Bausch & Lomb (B+L) distribution center in Woodruff, SC for Consumer products and oversight of the B+L pharmaceutical business unit activity at a 3PL.
Key Activities
Inventory Management:
Oversee and manage inventory levels for Consumer and Pharmaceutical products. Ensure daily inventory operations, including cycle counts, audits, adjustments and reconciliations. Adhere to the B+L Inventory Management Policy.
Process Improvement:
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Work cross‑functionally to support smooth warehouse operations.
Data Analysis:
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Perform statistical analysis to determine best practices for transportation lanes or distribution activity.
Reporting:
Generate regular inventory reports for management, highlight key metrics and performance indicators, and support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end inventory close procedures.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and train inventory control staff; foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Support distribution‑center leadership with various projects.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) regulations, company policies, industry regulations and quality standards. Handle audit requests with external partners.
Coordination:
Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning and Logistics teams to align inventory levels with business needs. Coordinate destructions and donations for finished goods.
Problem Solving:
Address and resolve inventory‑related issues promptly and effectively. Investigate concerns or errors at 3PL centers.
System Variances:
Fix system variances in PeopleSoft, JOA and/or Blue Yonder. Coordinate with IT for system issues requiring higher access.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in inventory management software.
Leadership:
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
Communication:
Excellent, professional communication skills to build and maintain positive partner relationships.
Problem‑Solving:
Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Technical Expertise:
Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or SAP, warehouse management systems such as Blue Yonder (JDA), Microsoft SQL and Power BI.
Minimum of 5 years of inventory management experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or consumer goods industry, with 1+ year in a supervisory role.
Comparable supply chain experience and familiarization with the health‑care industry.
