Overview Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is one component of our competitive Total Rewards package, which includes wellness programs, day‑one medical coverage, 401(k) matching, and annual performance bonuses. Paid time off is earned according to local policy and increases with tenure.

Responsibilities

Supervise staff and manage the daily operations of a designated shift, overseeing general maintenance, installation, repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and water distribution systems.

Create efficient schedules, maintain labor costs, meet staffing objectives, and achieve guest satisfaction.

Assist in the budget process, provide recommendations, ensure compliance with departmental budget initiatives, and report concerns to management.

Manage maintenance and construction projects, determining best practices for using in‑house resources or outside vendors.

Inspect completed projects for satisfactory results.

Ensure OSHA standards are followed during the designated shift.

Conduct daily inspections of the property to maintain cleanliness, attractiveness, and functionality, implementing immediate remediation of problems.

Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring team members meet department and company standards and addressing issues promptly.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements within the area of responsibility and report potential issues to management.

Maintain strict confidentiality of departmental and company matters.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old.

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of related experience or training; experience managing people is preferred.

Working knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Carpentry trades, including generators, fire pumps, and electrical switchgears; a trade license is preferred.

Strong arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure and ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and interpret bar graphs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Prior experience with all aspects of maintenance and engineering, especially electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and equipment maintenance.

Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve conflicts diplomatically.

Strong written communication: ability to produce reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Effective presentation skills: respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and safety rules.

Experience with supervisory responsibilities, staff development, training, rewards, and recognition programs.

Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.

Read and comprehend documents in English and communicate verbally and in writing in English.

Apply common sense in workplace instructions and solve standardized problems involving multiple variables.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must obtain and maintain a license by the WV Racing Commission and/or WV Lottery for this position; possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Job involves standing, using hands, reaching, and handling tools or controls; requires visual acuity for close, color, and peripheral vision.

Must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds; perform bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling as needed.

Work environment may be moderate to loud noise; exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, weather conditions, cold, electrical shock, and second‑hand tobacco smoke.
