Overview
NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure‑track assistant or associate professor position in the Initiative in Engineering Health, with the earliest start date of September 1, 2026. The position will be associated with one or more departments within the Tandon School of Engineering, for example the Department of Biomedical Engineering or the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Responsibilities
Applicants are expected to establish research programs with strong connection to health, such as immune, cardiometabolic, gut, and microbiome health, or health monitoring. Candidates in the field of plant health as it relates to agriculture, diet, and human health are also encouraged. Experimental or computational backgrounds are equally welcome. Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, biological chemistry, chemical biology, biology or microbiology, or a related discipline. A distinguished record of scholarship, leadership, curricular innovation, entrepreneurship, and an excellent funding record is desired from mid‑level candidates, while junior candidates must demonstrate clear potential to achieve the same. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (for 9‑month) range for this position is $110,000 – $170,000 for the Assistant Professor rank and $125,000 – $195,000 for the Associate Professor rank.
